Biography

Léna Pellandini-Simányi is an Associate Professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana, focusing on the intersection of markets and moralities. She holds a Master's degree in Economics Marketing and a PhD in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Dr. Pellandini-Simányi is the director of the 'Business, Markets Society' BA specialization and a co-chair of the Swiss Sociological Association's Economic Sociology Research Committee. Her research investigates how digital transformation affects economic subjectivities within retail finance in Switzerland, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. She explores topics such as consumer behavior and organizational theory, with particular attention to financial markets and political consumerism. Her work has been published in various academic journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research and Organization Studies. Current projects include studies on the financialization of everyday life and post-crisis consumer regulation across different countries. Dr. Pellandini-Simányi collaborates with a diverse group of researchers and students to advance knowledge in her field.
