Dr. Lennart Ambus

Biography

Lennart Ambus is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Geography and the scientific study of biogeochemical cycles and transport pathways. His research primarily focuses on the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, with current interests centered around the Arctic region. Ambus has extensive expertise in greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, as well as in carbon sequestration and soil nitrogen cycling. His activities encompass both small-to-medium laboratory scale installations and large-scale, complex field experiments. He has been responsible for the stable isotope facility at the Center for Permafrost (Cenperm) within the University of Copenhagen. Throughout his career, Ambus has held various positions, including Senior Scientist at the Technical University of Denmark, and has served as a Visiting Research Associate at Michigan State University. His collaborations span multiple continents, contributing to a better understanding of environmental processes and management strategies in response to climate changes.
