Biography

Lennart Bolliger is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, with a research focus on anti-colonial struggles, counterinsurgency, and militarization. His book, "Apartheid’s Black Soldiers: Un-national Wars Militaries Southern Africa," published in the War and Militarism in African History series by Ohio University Press, examines the history of Black soldiers from Namibia and Angola who fought against apartheid South Africa’s security forces during the Cold War. His research has been featured in various academic journals, including the Journal of Southern African Studies, South African Historical Journal, International History Review, Cold War History, and Journal of African History.
