Biography

Dr. da Costa received his MD from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 1995 and completed his neurosurgical training in 2000 in Brazil. He worked as a staff neurosurgeon at the Benjamin Guimarães Foundation João XXIII State Trauma Hospital before moving to Toronto for fellowship training. He completed four years of fellowship training at the University of Toronto, specializing in Cerebrovascular Surgery, Interventional Neuroradiology, and Spine Surgery. He joined the Division of Neurosurgery as an Assistant Professor in September 2008. His clinical practice is mostly focused on patients with Cerebrovascular and Spine diseases.
