Dr. Leon Aarons

Biography

Professor Leon Aarons is an Emeritus Professor in the Manchester Pharmacy School at the University of Manchester, UK. With a PhD from the University of Manchester, an MSc from the University of Calgary, and a BSc from the University of Sydney, his career began with a postdoctoral fellowship in the School of Chemistry at the University of Leeds before joining the University of Manchester in 1976. His major research interests are in the area of pharmacokinetics, with a particular focus on population pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. He is actively involved in exploring sources of variability in drug response, including genetic factors and drug-drug interactions. He has served on committees promoting research within the UK Pharmacokinetic Discussion Group and has held editorial roles in several pharmacology journals. His work frequently collaborates with industry and academic partners in Europe, aiming to improve drug development processes.
