Biography

Leonard MacEachern is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics at Carleton University. His research focuses on Analog Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit Design with applications in biomedical and telecommunications fields, including low-power Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFICs), Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs), Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), and Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs). He is particularly interested in the development of wearable and implantable devices and has worked on real-time hardware implementations of SNNs and ANNs. MacEachern's expertise also extends to the design of distributed linearized CMOS amplifiers and time digital converters. In addition, he has engaged in activities as a reviewer for IEEE and MDPI journals, and serves as a Guest Editor for a special issue in technical design. He is actively involved in the Technical Advisory Board for MDPI and advises on Virtual/Augmented/Extended Reality (VR/AR/XR) technologies for Teaching and Learning Services.
