Biography

Leonardo Callegaro received Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering with Honors degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2018 from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and held a research associate position in 2020. Prior to his doctoral studies, he mainly worked in the industry sector related to DC power systems and telecommunications for remote area power supplies. Currently a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Macquarie University, Sydney, Dr. Callegaro's research interests include control of power electronics, photovoltaic energy systems, microgrids, and grid integration of renewables. He is actively involved in the supervision of research students and engages with the teaching and leadership committee at Macquarie University, focusing on learning assessment, pedagogy, and inclusion in education.
