Professor Dr. Leonid Freidovich

Biography

Leonid Freidovich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics at Umeå University. He is known for his expertise in analytical mechanics and mathematical theories in nonlinear control systems, particularly in developing new algorithms for designing controllers in robotics and automation. His research primarily focuses on robotics automation with an emphasis on utilizing mathematically sound algorithms for control system design in industrial applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Michigan State University, where he developed a thesis on logic-based switching control for nonlinear systems. His academic journey has involved significant contributions to the field of control systems engineering, and he regularly engages in teaching advanced control methods in robotics.
