Dr. Leping Mou

Biography

Leping Mou is a Lecturer at the School of Education, University of Glasgow, specializing in Postsecondary Education, Comparative International Education, and educational policies. With a commitment to understanding the effects of various socio-political and economic factors on higher education, he leverages his extensive experience in different academic contexts, having held positions in China, Canada, and the UK since 2006. He serves currently as the Deputy Director at the Centre for Research and Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CRADALL). His research interests include comparative studies examining how cultural traditions and social values shape educational practices and curricula in higher education. He uses a mixed-methods approach to analyze higher education outcomes and student success, aiming to foster social change through educational equity and inclusion. Dr. Mou actively engages with the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education, having previously co-chaired their annual conferences. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Comparative International Development Education, an MA degree in Educational Leadership Policy from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, and BA and MA degrees from Shandong University and Shanghai International Studies University in China.
