Biography

Lesley-Ann Brown Henderson is the Assistant Vice President for Inclusion and Chief of Staff in Student Affairs at Northwestern University. She oversees several units including Multicultural Student Affairs, Student Enrichment Services, and Social Justice Education. Her responsibilities include addressing bias incidents reported on the RespectNU platform, supporting affected students, and fostering ongoing dialogue among staff, faculty, and students about social justice, respect, and inclusion. Additionally, she develops cultural competence training for students and coordinates Northwestern's Posse Scholars Program. Dr. Brown-Henderson earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with minors in Chemistry and African Caribbean Studies from the University of Miami, and her master's and doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University, with a focus on multicultural issues in higher education. Before joining Northwestern, she worked at the Counseling Center at Michigan State University and served in the Department of Multicultural Services at Texas A&M University. Lesley-Ann is also actively involved in NASPA, the leading association for administrators in higher education. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her partner and children, their puppy Eddy, traveling, cooking, shopping, and teaching boot camp style classes in Chicago.
