Biography

Les Green is an Emeritus Professor of Philosophy of Law and an Emeritus Fellow at Balliol College. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford and has previously served as Professor Emeritus at Queen's University, Canada. Green began his teaching career as a fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford, before moving to Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Throughout his career, he has been a visiting professor at prestigious law faculties, including Berkeley, New York University, and the University of Chicago, as well as at the University of Texas at Austin. His research primarily focuses on areas such as jurisprudence, constitutional theory, and moral and political philosophy. He has contributed significantly to the academic community, serving on the editorial board of journals and as a co-editor of the Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Law book series within the Oxford Legal Philosophy collection. His most recent publication is the book titled "Germ Justice" published by Oxford University Press in 2023.
