Dr. Leslie Holland

Biography

Leslie Holland is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology from Washington State University. Her research focuses on the diagnosis, biology, and management of pathogens affecting fruit crops in Wisconsin, with particular attention to cranberry, apple, grape, and other specialty fruits. Holland’s work is driven by grower needs and emphasizes practical information delivery to stakeholders through applied research. She has pioneered projects addressing disease challenges and translating findings into recommendations. Her research interests encompass fungal disease complexes, fungicide resistance, disease forecasting, and both cultural and chemical management strategies in fruit production.
