Biography

Leslie Roos is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba and a licensed clinical psychologist. She has a strong background in advancing child, youth, and family mental health in diverse communities. Roos joined the University of Manitoba in 2018 following her PhD from the University of Oregon and a clinical residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. She has served as a Junior Fellow at Harvard’s Centre for Developing Child, leading evaluation workshops for over 400 international teams and has been involved in a significant research program with over $6 million in principal funding and an additional $15 million as a co-investigator. Her focus is on creating scalable, equitable solutions for family mental health. Roos has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and led 16 clinical trials, developing innovative, evidence-based programs aimed at enhancing mental health support. Her research prioritizes mental health equity, community partnerships, and the use of eHealth solutions co-designed with Indigenous, newcomer, and immigrant communities, addressing critical gaps in access to care for families.
