Biography

Letian Dou is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. He completed his PhD in Materials Science Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2014 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Peking University in 2009. His research group focuses on hybrid materials synthesis, processing, and energy harvesting optoelectronic devices, emphasizing a fundamental understanding of materials structure-property relationships to develop high-performance, energy-efficient devices. Prior to joining Purdue, Dr. Dou held research positions at UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and various institutions, contributing to significant breakthroughs, including being part of a research team that established a world record for the power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells at 10.6%. He has given numerous invited talks and has published over 30 research articles with more than 7000 citations, and holds six patents. Dr. Dou continues to advance the field through innovative research and dedicated mentorship.
