Dr. Leticia Villamediana Gonzalez

Biography

Leticia Villamediana Gonzalez is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Warwick, where she has been a faculty member since 2014. Her academic background includes a PhD in Hispanic Studies and an MA from Queen's University, Belfast. Her research focuses primarily on 18th and 19th-century Spanish literature and culture, with a particular emphasis on women's writing, Anglo-Spanish relations, and the role of the periodical press. Villamediana Gonzalez is actively engaged in the scholarship on teaching and learning in higher education, focusing on developing inclusive curricula in Spanish language and literature courses. She has co-authored several publications addressing scholarship and teaching practices in her field, and she is currently preparing an anthology of translated works by 18th-century Spanish women writers. Apart from her research, she holds multiple administrative roles within the university and is recognized as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She was awarded the Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence and continues to work on projects that enhance the pedagogic landscape at Warwick.
