Dr. Letitia Meynell

Biography

Letitia Meynell is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Dalhousie University, cross-appointed in Gender and Women's Studies. Her academic work primarily focuses on Philosophy of Science, Feminist Philosophy, Epistemology, and Aesthetics. She completed her Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario, with a thesis titled "Representing, Imagining Understanding: Aesthetics Epistemology Images Science." She also holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Calgary, where her thesis was "Picture Hooks: Prelude Aesthetic Epistemology," and a B.A. (Hons.) in Theatre from York University. Throughout her career, she has edited and authored several significant publications, including works on thought experiments and feminist epistemology, contributing to leading philosophical journals. Her research interests include investigating the intersections of philosophy, science, and aesthetics, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of these fields and their implications in contemporary discourse.
