Biography

Lev Prasov is a physician-scientist actively engaged in comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic genetics. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, and completed his medical graduate studies as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the same institution. Dr. Prasov received his PhD in Human Genetics working in the laboratory of Tom Glaser. He completed a transitional year internship at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan's Kellogg Eye Center. Following this, he pursued fellowship training in Ophthalmic Genetics at the National Eye Institute. He is a K12 scholar supported by the National Institutes of Health and the National Eye Institute, and his research focuses on the genetic basis of developmental ocular disorders, particularly glaucoma and refractive errors. His lab aims to identify novel genes and pathways related to inherited ocular conditions, striving to improve diagnosis and treatment options for patients.
