Biography

Lewis Frederickson is an Adjunct Lecturer at UNSW Canberra in the School of Humanities & Social Sciences. He is a RAAF officer currently serving as the Chief Air Force Fellow at UNSW ADFA. With 28 years of service as an Air Combat Officer, Lewis has held various roles, including educator and Qualified Aviation Instructor. He holds an undergraduate degree in History and Literature as well as a master’s degree in History. Lewis completed his doctoral thesis on the aspect of Australia’s involvement in the Great War under John Connor at UNSW ADFA. He also has a bachelor's degree in Teaching, which he is scheduled to qualify in 2019. Lewis has been deployed to East Timor in 1999 and to Iraq in 2007 as part of a Multi-National Force. In addition to his military service, he has led the RAAF Officer Australian War Memorial Historical Mission on two occasions in 2016. Lewis is passionate about education and lifelong learning.
