Dr. Li Ching Ho

Biography

Li-Ching Ho is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses primarily on global civic education and the inclusion of diversity in civic education, with a particular interest in environmental citizenship education. Ho has been recognized for her contributions to the field, receiving several awards including the Vilas Faculty Associates Award and the Vilas Faculty Early Career Investigator Award. She has co-authored notable publications such as the book on Curriculum Justice and serves as a co-editor for the Palgrave Handbook of Global Citizenship Education. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with scholars, teachers, and students across various countries in East and Southeast Asia, including China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brunei, and the Philippines. Ho earned her PhD in Social Studies Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2008, and has obtained multiple degrees in education and social studies from reputable institutions. Her work has been published in numerous academic journals and she has presented at international conferences on topics related to civic education and social studies pedagogy.
