Biography

Li Wei is a Teaching Assistant Professor specializing in Chinese Language and Literature at Purdue University's College of Liberal Arts, where he has been influential in teaching Chinese courses and contributing to the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program. Wei's research primarily focuses on Chinese popular religious literature from the early modern period, specifically the fiction and drama of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Prior to joining Purdue, Wei served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese Humanities at Reed College, where he taught courses on premodern Chinese literature and modern classical Chinese languages. His dedication to teaching earned him the Excellence in Teaching Award from the School of Languages and Cultures in 2022.
