Dr. Li Xun

Biography

I am a Senior Research Associate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) focusing on measuring tail risks using extreme value theory. My current research project is engaged in climate risks, where I apply statistical methods to assess and quantify the potential impacts of extreme events on various sectors. My expertise in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics allows me to explore complex datasets and derive insights that are critical for decision-making frameworks in risk management. I have contributed to several publications that address user preference signaling and how these preferences can be managed effectively. My work is centered around integrating theoretical concepts with practical applications in business risk management, particularly in the field of actuary studies. I collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop robust models that encapsulate the intricacies of risk assessment in a changing climate.
