Biography

Li Yang received her BSc and MSc from Tsinghua University and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and served as the Head of School for the School of Banking and Finance at the UNSW Business School from 2019 to 2022. In addition to her roles at UNSW, she has held visiting positions at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her primary research interests include risk management, energy commodity markets, and financial modeling. Li has published in leading journals such as Management Science and Energy Economics. She has been awarded several Australian Research Council Discovery grants and an ARC Linkage grant for her research.
