Liam Harte is a Professor of Irish Literature at the University of Manchester. He studied English History at the University of Galway and earned a DPhil in English Literature at Trinity College Dublin. Harte has held academic posts in the Department of Irish Studies at St Mary’s University London and the English Department at the University of Ulster. He joined the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Manchester in 2004. He served as Principal Investigator for a major AHRC-funded research project titled 'Conflict, Memory and Migration: Northern Ireland Migrants and the Troubles in Great Britain', running from 2019 to 2022.
