Biography

Choon Wang is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Monash University. He obtained his PhD from the University of California San Diego in 2010 and worked at the World Bank's Development Research Group in Washington D.C. He has been with the Department of Economics since October 2011. His research interests cover a wide range of topics within behavioral economics, economics education, labor economics, development economics, public economics, and health economics. Wang utilizes field natural experiments and observational data to study the determinants of education, health, and labor market outcomes in both developed and developing countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, and the United States. He provides technical policy assistance to governments and has published in numerous international refereed journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, and the Journal of Public Economics.
