Biography

Prof. Wang is currently the principal investigator at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences, and Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China, leading a research group focused on theoretical experimental microbiology (TEM). He is also an adjunct research fellow at the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Queensland, and an associate professor at the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University, Perth, WA, Australia. Prof. Wang supervises MSc students at South China University of Technology and South Medical University and PhD students at the University of Queensland. His current research interests include computational experimental microbiology with a focus on rapid diagnosis of bacterial pathogens. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Western Australia in 2014 and underwent postdoctoral training at Concordia University and Curtin University. Prof. Wang serves as an associate editor for Frontiers in Microbiology and is on the editorial board of several other journals. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and has edited more than 10 books. In 2019, he was awarded the Australia-China Helicobacter Research Fellowship.
