Biography

Liat Levanon is a Reader in Evidence Law and Philosophy at King's College London, where she is also the Interim Vice Dean for Students, Culture & Community. She has been a faculty member since 2018, following a lectureship at Brunel University. Liat obtained her PhD from the University of Cambridge, where she focused on various aspects of law related to evidence. Before this, she earned her LLB at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Liat has held a postdoctoral position at the Faculty of Law at the University of Zurich and was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg. Additionally, her previous roles include work with the Israel Democracy Institute in Jerusalem. Liat's research areas encompass Evidence Law, including the philosophy of evidence, statistical evidence, and probabilistic reasoning in the context of legal justification and criminal punishment. Her teaching interests extend to Evidence Law, Criminal Law, and Penology. Liat has published extensively in these fields, contributing to significant dialogues in both academic and practical contexts.
