Biography

Liesanth Yde Nirmalarajan is a researcher in social work, focusing on the experiences of frontline workers and families in vulnerable positions, and their encounters with various types of digital technologies. In 2016, Liesanth began exploring the experiences of service users and their involvement in digital practices within social work research processes. Currently, Liesanth is conducting research at the intersection of social work and digitization. This study investigates the experiences of service users and frontline workers regarding their conditions of involvement with technologies including self-service solutions, professional systems, and algorithmic decision support. The project is part of a collaborative research initiative with Trygfonden Children's Research Center and University College, financially supported by Trygfonden, and co-led by Professor Michael Rosholm, Associate Professor Line Berg, and Senior Researcher Anne Marie Villumsen. Drawing on interdisciplinary, practice-oriented approaches, Liesanth examines how decisions in social work are influenced by digital technologies, contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015.
