Biography

Liesbeth Enneking is a Professor of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at the Erasmus School of Law, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She obtained her doctorate in 2012 with a focus on civil litigation promoting corporate accountability for human rights and environmental violations. Over the past twelve years, she has published extensively on legal policy developments related to responsible business conduct in global value chains. Enneking is a prominent legal expert and actively participates in socio-political debates on corporate social responsibility, fair trade, business and human rights, and sustainable development. She regularly presents at seminars and conferences both in the Netherlands and abroad, and is frequently consulted on legal policy issues within her field of expertise. Enneking has been involved in various multidisciplinary research projects, most of which have received external funding from organizations such as the European Commission and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). She has held positions at the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law and a rotating professorship at the University of Leuven’s Department of Law. Moreover, she serves on several committees, including the independent Monitoring Committee of the Dutch Insurance Sector's Agreement on International Responsible Business Conduct since 2018, and as an Independent Member of the Dutch National Contact Point of the OECD Guidelines since 2021.
