Biography

Professor Liette Lapointe's research integrates information systems management with behavioral issues related to the adoption of information systems in healthcare settings. Her work has resulted in over 50 peer-reviewed publications and close to 100 presentations at national refereed conferences, along with over 50 invited presentations both locally and internationally. She has been instrumental in studying resistance to information technology and her research has led to articles in top-tier scholarly international journals. In 2005, she received the MIS Quarterly Paper of the Year Award. Currently, her ongoing projects include a wide spectrum of user reactions, enhanced use, ambivalence, and collective use addiction. Her work in health informatics and healthcare management focuses on implementing impacts in healthcare settings, particularly concerning issues related to Alzheimer's disease, chronic care diseases, and knowledge co-creation. Professor Lapointe has developed collaborations with highly recognized researchers at local, national, and international levels, extending her research impact to practice and bringing her expertise into the healthcare system and public policy. She holds an Honorary Doctorate from Aix-Marseille University and is the holder of the Bronfman Chair.
