Biography

Lihong Wang is a Bren Professor of Medical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. He holds the Andrew Peggy Cherng Medical Engineering Leadership Chair and serves as Executive Officer in the Medical Engineering department. Wang completed his Bachelor of Science at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1984, followed by a Master’s degree in 1987 and a Ph.D. from Rice University in 1992. In 2016, he was appointed as a Visiting Associate at Caltech before becoming a Bren Professor in 2017. He took over the role of Cherng Medical Engineering Leadership Chair in 2022 and assumed the position of Executive Officer also in 2022. His research interests encompass various aspects of Medical Engineering and applications in Electrical Engineering, contributing notable advancements in these fields.
