Biography

Lihui Wang is a Professor and Chair in Sustainable Manufacturing at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He serves as the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Production Research (XPRES), overseeing five national strategic research centers. His current role includes being the President of the International Academy Engineering Technology and he previously served as the President of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Wang has received numerous accolades, including being named one of the 20 Influential Professors in Smart Manufacturing in 2020 and receiving a Gold Medal from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 2024. He holds a PhD and MSc from Kobe University in Japan and a BSc from China. Before joining KTH in 2008, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Kobe University and Toyohashi University of Technology, and as a Senior Research Scientist with the National Research Council Canada. His research interests focus on real-time monitoring and control, human-robot collaboration, brain robotics, digital twin technologies, and cyber-physical sustainable production systems. Wang has been recognized with several awards for his research contributions, including multiple Paper Awards and Outstanding Paper Awards. He has published over 800 scientific articles and has been actively involved in editorial roles for numerous well-respected journals in his field.
