Biography

Lihui Wang is a Professor and Chair of Sustainable Manufacturing at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. He is the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Production Research (XPRES) and has held numerous leadership positions, including President of the International Academy Engineering Technology (AET) and of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution (NAMRI) for 2020-2021. Wang has been recognized as one of the 20 Influential Professors in Smart Manufacturing in 2020 and has received prestigious awards such as the Gold Medal from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 2024. He completed his PhD and MSc at Kobe University and has extensive professional experience, previously holding academic positions in Japan and joining the National Research Council Canada in 1998. His research interests include real-time monitoring and control, human-robot collaboration, brain robotics, digital twin technologies, and cyber-physical sustainable production systems. Wang has published over 800 scientific articles and has served as an editor for several international journals. He has actively participated in organizing conferences and has received numerous awards for his contributions to manufacturing research.
