Dr. Liling Wan

Biography

Liling Wan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cancer Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She completed her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a focus on Biotechnology at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, in 2008. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in 2014. Wan's research focuses on the intersection of cancer biology and epigenetics, particularly the mechanisms by which chromatin dysregulation influences cellular fate transitions and promotes tumorigenicity. Her lab employs mouse models, genome-wide sequencing, advanced imaging, and functional genomics to investigate the roles of chromatin-associated transcriptional condensates and epigenomic reprogramming in cancer. She is committed to translating fundamental discoveries into therapeutic interventions. Wan has published extensively, contributing to the understanding of cancer-associated mutations in chromatin regulators and their implications for cancer behaviors such as metastasis.
