Biography

Lillie Webb is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Romance Studies at Boston University, where she directs the BU Global House, a living-learning community located in Myles Standish Hall that fosters immersive foreign language learning and intercultural exchange among students. She holds a B.A. in French and English Literature from Bennington College, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from Boston University. As a graduate student, she was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Teaching and initiated the interdisciplinary BU Romance Studies Graduate Student Conference. Her research interests focus on depictions of women, power, and sexuality in 19th century French literature and art, as well as mechanisms of identity construction and navigating intercultural frameworks.
