Biography

Limei Tian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University. She received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014. Her research focuses on the development of organic-inorganic hybrid materials for use in physical, chemical, and biological sensors, as well as multifunctional surfaces and interfaces. She works on programmable and reconfigurable material systems with tunable properties and functionalities. Her work also includes studying flexible and stretchable wearable photonics and electronics, along with unconventional approaches to micro and nanofabrication, particularly in relation to biomaterials, biosensors, medical devices, and micro/nanotechnology. Dr. Tian has received several prestigious awards, including the Young Faculty Fellow Award from Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station in 2023, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences R35 Maximizing Investigators' Research Award from the National Institutes of Health in 2022, and the Trailblazer Award from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering in 2020.
