Dr. Lina Marin obtained her DDS degree from the National University of Colombia in 2007 and has centered her professional career on academia and research. In 2013, she obtained her MSc in Basic Biomedical Sciences from El Bosque University (Colombia). Between 2014 and 2020, she was selected to present her research in the prestigious IADR Hatton Award Competition, representing Colombia in 2014 and Canada in 2020. Dr. Marin has a strong publication record and wealth of experience in varied laboratory environments, integrating basic science with applied clinical research. Her research program focuses on deciphering the dynamic interaction between biofilm-forming microorganisms in the oral cavity and the host to understand the roles of biofilm factors and mechanisms involved in health and disease.
