Biography

Lina Nie teaches courses on the Mongol empire, China, and Japan. She is currently completing a book on diplomatic exchanges in Eurasia from the eleventh to fifteenth centuries. Lina received her PhD in History from the University of Southern California, an undergraduate degree from the University of Hong Kong, and a Master's degree from Harvard University. Her research has been supported by fellowships from the Harvard Yenching Institute, Yale’s Middle Period Conference Grants, and the USC–Huntington Early Modern Institute Dissertation Fellowship. Her work has been published in notable journals such as the Journal of Song-Yuan Studies, Bulletin of Ming-Qing Studies, and Monumenta Nipponica.
