Biography

Lina Sela is an Associate Professor in the Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests focus on intelligent urban water systems, which include optimal design and operation, fault diagnosis and prediction, resilient networks, and advanced analytics informed by integrated sensing and data collection. Sela's scholarly work aims to develop sustainable systems that effectively manage water resources and ensure resilient urban infrastructure amidst changing environmental conditions. She received her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Technion in 2011. Sela has been recognized for her contributions with several awards, including the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation in 2020.
