Biography

Lina Sunseri is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at Western University and holds a joint appointment in Indigenous Studies. She obtained her PhD in Sociology from York University, Toronto, and has spent 20 years teaching at Brescia University College before joining Western University. Her research primarily focuses on the transformation of Indigenous gender relations in the context of colonization and the current revitalization of Indigenous ways of knowing. Her selected publications include works that address the intersections of colonialism, Indigeneity, gender, and nationalism, and she is actively engaged in discussing the importance of Indigenous voices in research and academia.
