Dr. Lincoln Shlensky

Biography

Lincoln Z. Shlensky is an Associate Professor specializing in cultural media studies with a focus on postcolonial Caribbean studies, diaspora Jewish studies, and film. He has published in notable journals such as Callaloo, Prooftexts, La Habana Elegante, and Qui Parle, and has contributed to edited volumes on African diasporic cultures and postcolonial literature. His current research includes a manuscript entitled "Islands Memory: Literary Politics Aftermaths," which examines modernist literary influences on the politics of traumatic remembrance in postcolonial literatures. Shlensky teaches undergraduate courses in film rhetoric, aesthetics, postcolonial studies, and Caribbean literature, and has led graduate seminars on postcolonial literature theory and global cinema. He has held editorial positions and has actively contributed to various academic associations and committees, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to scholarship and mentorship.
