Dr. Linda Ferrington

Biography

Linda Ferrington is an Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales, working within the School of Clinical Medicine. Her primary responsibilities include teaching and assessment, particularly in the curriculum development for Phase 1 Medicine. She is dedicated to creating engaging and challenging learning experiences for adult learners in a tertiary education setting. In her role, she actively develops innovative resources to enhance teaching practices, which in turn increases student engagement and retention. Dr. Ferrington's current research interests focus on investigating medical students' understanding of childhood obesity, particularly in rural settings. She is involved in evaluating various educational programs, including the KM Club in rural Australia, where she measures a range of outcomes to assess the factors that contribute to the successful implementation of such programs. Collaborating with her colleagues at the UNSW Rural Clinical School, she is also evaluating the outcomes of students undertaking full undergraduate medical degrees in rural environments.
