Linda Green joined the faculty at Georgia Tech in Fall 2008 as a Principal Academic Professional in the School of Biological Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Virginia in 2006. Her research focuses on anthropogenic changes in community ecosystem ecology, particularly in streams and high-elevation urban settings. Dr. Green has a keen interest in conservation biology, especially concerning amphibians and the impacts of climate change. From 2017 to 2020, she served as a Teaching Professor of Biology at Georgetown University, where she co-led the implementation of a campus-wide natural science requirement and taught various biology courses. In 2020, she returned to Georgia Tech to direct the campus-wide Academic Support and Tutoring Office for Undergraduate Education, supervising a growing Learning Assistant program. In 2023, she returned to the College of Sciences to help lead the new interdisciplinary Environmental Science major and facilitate integration of hands-on experiences for ENVS majors. Linda's contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Eichholz Faculty Teaching Award and the GTAAN Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award. She was a National Academies Science Education Fellow and recognized for her leadership in promoting an inclusive culture at Georgia Tech.
