Biography

Linda Hassing studied psychology at the University of Reykjavík, Iceland, and obtained her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Gothenburg in 1998, with a thesis on episodic memory functioning in old age. She has worked as a researcher at the Stockholm Aging Research Center and held positions at the Karolinska Institute and the School of Health Sciences at Jönköping University. Since 2004, she has been an Associate Professor of psychology at the University of Gothenburg. Her primary research interests include the influence of lifestyle on the development of cognitive functions in old age and related risks of dementia. She utilizes data from the Swedish Twin Registry and engages in longitudinal studies examining memory and cognitive function development over the lifespan.
