Biography

Dr. Hiraki's current research interests include examining the genetic contribution to complex rheumatic diseases and their associated long-term outcomes. Her work focuses on employing novel methods to take advantage of the rich, longitudinally collected clinical data and to investigate common low-frequency genetic variants in order to discover new genetic associations related to the manifestations and complications of these complex diseases. Additionally, Dr. Hiraki is conducting transethnic studies of admixed populations to better understand the complexities of these disorders.
