Biography

Linda Lim is Professor Emerita at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. She has a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan, obtained in 1978, and has held academic positions focused on political economy, multinational local business, and the changing international trade and investment environment in Southeast Asia. Her research interests include the influence of domestic politics on economic policy and business culture, as well as business-government and business-labor relations. Lim has contributed significantly to the field through her publications, including works on the economic development of Southeast Asian Chinese businesses and China's foreign direct investment in Southeast Asia. She has served as the Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies from 2005 to 2009 and has taught MBA courses focusing on the World Economy and Business in Asia.
