Dr. Linda Maerz

Biography

Associate Professor of Surgery and Anesthesiology specializing in General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Maerz serves as the Program Director for the Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Fellowships and is also the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital. Her clinical interests focus on complex surgical conditions including re-operative surgery, sepsis, resuscitation, and shock. Dr. Maerz's research interests revolve around quality improvement in surgical intensive care units and the clinical outcomes associated with sepsis and glycemic control in critically ill patients. She completed her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and underwent residency training in general surgery at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by fellowship training in surgical critical care at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Maerz has received numerous professional honors, including the Academic Achievement and Departmental Citizenship Award from the Yale University Department of Surgery.
