Professor Dr. Linda Magnusson

Biography

Linda Magnusson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland specializing in Neurology. She completed her MD at Memorial University and pursued further training in Neurology at the same institution, followed by a fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology at Emory University. Dr. Magnusson's research emphasizes idiopathic intracranial hypertension and she is involved in multicenter clinical trials related to multiple sclerosis and stroke. She teaches ophthalmoscopy to medical students and has facilitated numerous educational sessions in clinical skills. Dr. Magnusson has delivered lectures and tutorials as part of the undergraduate and postgraduate medical curriculum and has been an invited speaker at professional events sponsored by the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Optometrists and the Newfoundland Society of Electroneurophysiology Technologists. Her contributions to research have led to several notable publications in reputable journals, making significant advancements in the understanding of conditions such as elevated intracranial pressure and its implications for treatment.
