Biography

Linda Partridge is a Professorial Research Fellow at University College London in the Department of Genetics, Evolution & Environment. Her work primarily focuses on the biology of aging, particularly the mechanisms behind healthy lifespan extension in laboratory model organisms and humans. She has concentrated on nutrient-sensing pathways and insulin/insulin-like growth factor signaling, alongside the role of diet and the development of geroprotective drugs. Partridge has received numerous honors for her contributions to science, including being made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2009, and she is a Fellow of both the Royal Society and the Academy of Medical Sciences, as well as a foreign member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She was the founding director of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Aging in Cologne, Germany, and serves as the Biological Secretary for the Royal Society.
