Biography

Linda Radford is a Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa, specializing in Urban Education. She co-leads the Urban Education Cohort and teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. Her research interests focus on curriculum policy renewal, digital pedagogies that foster self-reflexive reading practices, and the empowerment of marginalized youth in engaging with literacies in critical ways. Linda is currently a co-investigator on a SSHRC project entitled 'Developing Mobile Media Spaces for Civic Engagement in Urban Priority Schools.' Her publications reflect her ongoing commitment to supporting diversity and social difference and conceptualizing child and youth studies as emancipatory fields. Her work has appeared in journals such as the McGill Journal of Education, Affective Reading, the Canadian Association of Curriculum Studies, the Multicultural Education Review, and Changing English: Studies in Reading Culture. Furthermore, she serves as the co-vice president of the Canadian Association of Curriculum Studies.
