Dr. Linda Reichl

Biography

Linda E. Reichl is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Denver in 1969. Dr. Reichl has had a long and distinguished career, serving as an N.S.F. Faculty Associate at the University of Texas at Austin from 1969 to 1971 and later as a Fulbright-Hays Research Scholar at the Free University of Brussels from 1971 to 1973. She was appointed Assistant Professor in Physics at the University of Texas at Austin in 1973, became an Associate Professor in 1980, and achieved Full Professor status in 1988. Over the years, she has held various positions, including Acting Director of the Center for Statistical Mechanics and Complex Systems in 1974 and has also served as Chair of the University of Texas Faculty Council during the 2005-06 academic year. Professor Reichl's research interests encompass Quantum Chaos, transport theory, nonlinear dynamics, and nonequilibrium statistical physics, where she has published more than 100 research papers and authored several books. Her current work is focused on the areas of Quantum Information and Computing.
